As the conflict continues to escalate, international airlines have canceled flights to Israel.
Just this week, Hamas launched about 1,800 rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, far exceeding the number fired in previous clashes and Israeli defense officials' predictions. Among them, dozens of rockets were fired toward the coastal cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon, near Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport.

Amid the escalating violence, United Airlines, which operates 18 weekly flights to Israel, announced it was suspended. Delta and American Airlines also confirmed the suspension of the New York-Tel Aviv route.
British Airways cancelled all flights to the Israeli capital on May 13 and Virgin Atlantic also suspended flights there on May 5 and 13. Both airlines said they were monitoring the situation closely.
Several other international airlines also cancelled or suspended flights, including the Netherlands' KLM, Germany's Lufthansa, Russia's Aeroflot, Spain's Iberia, and Poland's LOT. LOT's spokesman, Krzysztof Moczulski, said: "I don't think we're flying there in the coming days."
